Corey began his journey in the beauty industry in 1997. After completing his master barber program, he apprenticed in an AVEDA concept salon where he fell in love with the company and the mission it stands behind.
After working in the salon industry a few years, he decided that he was going to continue his education by moving to Johnson City, TN where he studied theatre design while attending East Tennessee State University (ETSU). He was nominated to the Kennedy Center of Arts College Festival (KCACTF) where he was chosen to present his hair and make-up designs twice. Even though he loves the theatre, he chose to continue his career with AVEDA.
He loves his home state of Tennessee, however he decided to follow his hobby interest and move to the Boulder Colorado area in 2007. Since moving here not only has he excelled at his hobby loves of camping, hiking, and snowboarding, he has excelled with Aveda as well.
In 2008 he was invited to become part of the first certified color educator groups in the Rocky Mountain West Region with AVEDA. By doing this he was trained by AVEDA corporate on the exact science behind the color line in order to take the knowledge and facilitate it in salons.
Not only does he love to play with color. He enjoys completing the look with cutting as well. He believes that one can always learn and is eager to do so with color, cutting, and make-up. He doesn’t only work in the salon. He enjoys being able to work on site as well. Whether it is doing hair and make-up for weddings and special events, or editorial work with photographers. “ It’s fun to switch it up and be in the action!!”
He hopes this introduction has inspired you to come meet him at his studio at Corey Sutton Inc. Call and make a free consult or just stop in and introduce yourself. He always puts his client’s needs first and hopes that you can become part of his team!!
